Submit a tip
If you know something the public record should reflect, or you can point us to a record we have missed, the desk wants to hear it. Tips are leads. We verify everything against public records before anything is published, and we never publish a claim simply because it was submitted.
How tips are handled
- You can submit anonymously. Anonymous is the default. Leave it on and we will not ask for or keep any contact information.
- Confidentiality. If you do share contact details, we use them only to follow up with you, and we do not publish who sent a tip.
- Public-records ethos. The strongest tips point us to something in the public record we can verify and link: a filing, a permit, a vote, a payment. We do not use private, hacked, or leaked data, and we will not publish unsupported allegations.
For the full picture of how we verify, score, and review what we publish, read our methodology.
